International Au Pair Agency - Au Pair in France, Spain, Amsterdam, Germany and the U.S.
Includes host family placement, room, board, insurance, and stipend.
Au pairs live as an extended member of their host family and receive room, board, and a small stipend in exchange for providing childcare for the host family's children.
Au Pair Abroad Programs
Most international au pair agency placements begin in September and require a 9- to 12-month commitment (summer-only and 6-month positions are available on a limited basis). Au pair services include a maximum of 30 hours of childcare per week, and schedules are arranged with host families. Au pairs may be asked to provide childcare up to 3 evenings per week, and will have at least 1 full day off each week.
Au pair services can include:
- Bringing the children to school and picking them up
- Interacting and playing with the children
- Helping with homework
- Performing light housework associated with the children such as helping to keep their rooms clean or cooking light meals
Au pairs are not responsible for housework unrelated to the children or for managing the household. Au pairs are only responsible for their share of daily chores as any other member of the family.
If you are patient, hard-working, and love of children, there is no better way to gain an intimate insight into a country's people and their way of life than by living with a host family as an au pair.
