Paid Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Internships in New Zealand

Internships in New Zealand
Placements begin with a 5-day orientation, that introduces you to New Zealand's customs and culture, the hospitality industry, employment relations, and helps you set up a banking account. You can join in the many campus activities and meet like-minded students and interns.
Internship Placements and Pay
Placements are typically available in hotels, lodges, resorts, cafes, and restaurants. Limited placements are available at ski resorts, jet boat operators, bungee jumping locations, and other adventure-type activities. You'll work up to 40 hours per week with variable schedules, and usually have two consecutive days off. The stipend is approximately US$1400 (NZ$1920) per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
Sample placements include front office, housekeeping, bar or food and beverage in a hotel, and customer service positions for a tourism operator.

Internship HousingSome hotels offer room and board but the majority do not. Several internship housing options are available. You will need to include payment for your first month of housing along with your program fee. Once you begin your intern program you will begin earning a stipend to help offset housing and other expenses. |
