Working Abroad's Volunteer Work in India Program Now Available
New York, NY – Working Abroad (www.workingabroad.org) announces the launch of an all new Volunteer in India program for college students, professors and other young adults.
The Volunteer in India program has a special appeal to those studying, researching, teaching or who just have a general interes in the areas of childcare and education. The program runs for 8 weeks and includes housing and meals. Placements are arranged at primary and secondary schools and day-care centers in the Rajasthan state of northwest India near New Delhi. Projects include teaching children math and English, painting, creating teaching materials, working in children’s health clinics, preparing meals, assisting in surveys of pregnant women and young children, and many other similar responsibilities.
Also included is a 3-day orientation program; 3 sightseeing tours including an elephant ride, a camel safari with overnight camping in the desert, and a tiger safari. Full support is included during the entire program from Working Abroad in the U.S and our partner organization in India so volunteers always have a local contact.
According to Tara Cavanagh, Working Abroad program manager, “Unlike many other volunteer programs, when you participate in a Working Abroad program, you can be sure your volunteer efforts are directly assisting those in need. Our local partners ensure each placement is important to the community and is in a safe and structured environment.”
The Volunteer in India program complements our other volunteer programs, including:
Volunteer in Australia
Volunteer in Costa Rica
Volunteer in Peru
