Volunteer in Namibia, Africa - Noah's Ark Project
Location:
You'll be 195 miles from Windhoek on a 12 million-acre farm in the Omaheke region.
During the past thirty years, this family-run farm has dedicated it’s time to establish the most suitable and secure home possible for neglected or orphaned wild animals. From the time that people became aware of the farm's dedication, not a single week has passed without an injured or orphaned animal finding its way to the project.
Volunteer activities:
- Feeding animals
- Caring for and cleaning baby animals
- Night duty - caring for baby animals, especially baboons
- Cleaning enclosures
- Assisting with building/repair of fences, waterholes, and enclosures
- Assisting field guide with daily guest tours
- Preparation of meat (including handling fresh meat)
- Patrols of enclosures and game areas
- Other optional activities
Eligibility
- Be 18-45 years of age
- Be in good health
- Have a positive attitude and be willing to live/work as part of a team
- Enjoy working with animals and outdoor activities
- Meet the requirements for Namibia Visa
Housing and Meals:
You'll stay in the air-conditioned volunteer quarters. You'll prepare most of your own breakfasts, while other meals will be prepared by the Lodge.
Notes:
Telephone, fax, and email facilities are available, but communication can be erratic and unreliable. Mobile phone reception is available in some parts of the Project. There is no TV or radio. There is a swimming pool and a bar area to relax during free time.

**Arrive at Windhoek no later than 8:00 a.m. Friday morning, preferable to arrive Thursday night. Depart no earlier than 2:00 p.m. Thursday, preferable to depart on Friday.
