Parque Nacional Marino Las Baulas,
Sector de Playa Longosta
Location:
North of the district of Tamarindo, in the county of Santa Cruz, province of Guanacaste.
Area Information:
An important nesting site for Leatherback turtles (the largest marine turtle in the world), this park boasts of the San Francisco estuary on the northern side and rocky platforms to the south. Langosta Beach, the most important of the four beaches in this park where turtles nest, is 1,300 meters long and has beautiful white sand and a strong swell.
Projects:

Investigation and protection project of the Baula turtle, between October and March (for individual and groups)
Special Activities:
- Give English lessons for students of the school and park attendants (for professors, teachers or students of language careers)
- Elaboration of a waste disposal management plan (for students or professionals of environmental studies, or environmental teachers)
- Environmental education project support
- Document translation from Spanish into English (Spanish language is a prerequisite)
Parque Nacional Corcovado
Location:
On the Pacific coast, 368 dm from San José, along the Interamericana South road, on the way to Puerto Jiménez.
Area Information:
Created on October 24, 1975, this park conserves the last portion of tropical wet forest of the Mesoamerican Pacific. Given its area, it has several service and protection stations: La Leona, Sirena Los Patos, and San Pedrillo. Staff members are also responsible for taking care of the resources at Reserva Biológica Isla del Caño, where there also is a ranger station.
Projects:
- Surveillance of posts, customer care, and of maintencance work support
- Office support of Puerto Jiménez digitalizing information of the management plan for the National Park Corcovado
- Trail repair at post Isla del Caño (group project)
