Costa Rican Language School placements include Spanish courses, host family housing and meals
Prior to starting a Volunteer in Costa Rica program, participants are required to attend Spanish Language School classes. Participants with an intermediate level of Spanish or above to not have to attend the language school, but can choose to take advanced or specialty courses.
Language School classes of up to 8 students meet 4 hours per day, Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m.-noon or 1-5 p.m.
Basic and advanced courses are offered with special courses in Business, Medical, Intercultural, Spanish American Culture and Latin American Current Events available upon request (contact us for details and pricing on specialized programs).

Costa Rica Language School placements are offered in San José and Manuel Antonio Beach
The Spanish Language School Fee Includes:
- Intensive Spanish coursework with 4 hours of daily Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and conversation instruction with native-speaking instructors
- Housing and meals with a carefully screened host family
- Access to discounted international accident and sickness insurance
- Airport pick-up and transfer
- Cultural activities
- Bus ticket if traveling to Manuel Antonio National Park
- Pre-departure and in-country assistance from InterExchange and our Costa Rica partner organization
