Finding work in Australia is becoming increasingly difficult due to increasing numbers of Work and Travel, or Working Holiday visa travelers competing for short-term jobs. That's the key point of the Working Abroad program.

Priority Work Service

Upon arrival, you will be given priority for any jobs available through our partner organization. Offered jobs range from a single 8-hour shift to a 3-month position. Most work placements are in hospitality, manual labor, and call centers but office assistant, in childcare, teaching, retail, and fruit picking work is also available.

Housing Referrals

Housing assistance and referrals are provided throughout Australia, but a special long-term Sydney Accommodation program is also available to   participants who choose to stay in Sydney for more than 4 weeks. Program staff will discuss housing requirements with participants to learn what they want and will arrange viewing times for participants to view accommodations. All recommended housing has been visited and inspected by program staff. This cost-free service helps many participants avoid many of the common hassles with finding long-term housing in foreign countries. Keep in mind--accommodations over Christmas and New Year's can be very hard to find and/or expensive in Sydney.

Travel Service

A full-service travel company right at your fingertips. If you can't make it into one of the 28 Backpacker's World Travel Shops in Australia and New Zealand, you can contact them via phone or internet. Travel consultants will be ready to help you create travel packages according to your interests, time, and budgets. Backpackers World Travel consultants can book flights, trains, buses, and accommodation and travel packages and can provide advice on the best places to visit, best travel routes and best tours to do on the way.

We will also set you up with the best cell phone rates in Australia. Just bring your phone into the office and we can set you up in no time at all. If you don't have a cell phone, we can arrange one for you.
